Experience and Approach Henrietta Pertuz received her Master's in Social Work from Columbia University and her BA from Duke University. While at Columbia, Henrietta focused on Program Development and Advanced Generalist Practice. She has worked in the field at The Hudson Guild, serving residents of the Elliott-Chelsea housing community and developing its Advisory Council. Previously, Henrietta worked at DOROT, facilitating intergenerational programs for older adults at risk of loneliness and isolation. Henrietta saw the incredibly positive power of community support first-hand while working at The Hudson Guild and DOROT.

Before attending Columbia, Henrietta worked her way up the ladder at two of New York City’s most competitive and rapidly growing advertising agencies. She created and launched a women’s clothing company during the recession of 2008 and has helped other female entrepreneurs build their own businesses. Henrietta’s social justice work with organizations including Dress for Success, Reading Partners and City Year, where she served on the Womens’ Board, led her to pursue a path where she could use her professional skills and social work experience to provide greater access to self-care and stress management tools -- for people who need these tools the most.

Henrietta’s educational, professional and personal experience has given her a unique and useful perspective regarding the positive impact that self-care can have on a person’s overall health, productivity and resilience. This is especially relevant today, when the expectation to be “on” 24/7 can create toxic stress that impacts physical, mental and emotional wellness.

Henrietta’s programs reflect a dedication to enhance the lives of clients of all ages and backgrounds through proven, evidence-based, accessible therapeutic techniques and intervention.
